Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor (VC) N. Prabhu Dev and Registrar (Administration) B.C. Mylarappa seemed to have got into another tiff, this time over the appointment of the Chairperson in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, Prof. Mylarappa told a press conference that after much delay, N. Nandini was appointed to the post. Asked if the VC had been informed, Prof. Mylarappa said the VC had approved it.
However, in the evening Dr. Prabhu Dev sent out a press release which said, “I am surprised to see the order which has been issued without the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.”
He added he had directed the Registrar to issue a cancellation order immediately.
