Thursday was a memorable day for Namratha N.S., a student of Sandeepini School, Shimoga, who scored 620 marks, the third highest in the SSLC exam.

She got 125 marks in Sanskrit, 100 each in Social Science and Mathematics, 99 each in English and Kannada and 97 in Science.

She is the daughter of Sridhara K., an Assistant Administrative Officer in Karnataka State Reserve Police. Her mother, Sandhya S.D., is a clerk in Sahyadri College here.

Namratha attributed her achievement to her teachers' encouragement and guidance and intends to pursue research in Applied Physics.
