E-learning courses would be offered by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, in partnership with a private firm, said University vice-chancellor R.T. Sabapathy Mohan.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed here on Tuesday between the University and EdServ, a firm offering services in technology-assisted learning, to offer a certificate course in office automation, a diploma course in programming, and a post-graduate diploma in object oriented programming, through e-learning courses.

The syllabus, fee structure and the revenue sharing system would be decided by the University’s Syndicate, said Dr. Mohan. Face-to-face contact programmes could also supplement the e-learning modules, he said, adding that all such details would be decided soon.

Courses such as office automation were required for every student, as computerisation was the norm in almost every industry, said S. Giridharan, chairman and CEO, EdServ. Soft skill modules would also be offered along with the courses, he said.
