A complaint has been filed against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a local court here under the Arms Act over alleged use of weapons by them during "Shashtra Pujan" ceremony on the occasion of Dussehra.
The complaint was filed by a local resident, Anil Jadhav in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, N S Meena against Chouhan, his wife, their son and a security officer.
The next hearing on the complaint would be held on December 7.
Jadhav in his complaint alleged that Chouhan, his wife Sadhna Singh and their son Kartikay had violated Arms Act by firing in the air with weapons of prohibited bores on the occasion of this year’s Dussehra in the official residence of the Chief Minister.
Jadhav also demanded action against Chouhan’s security officer in the matter.
After “Shashtra Puja”, picture of Chouhan holding a trigger was also published in local media.
Political parties including the main opposition Congress in the state had cited the move as unauthorised while Chief Minister’s spokesman had described the firing as a routine part of the “Shashtra Pujan”.
