The BJP on Wednesday said it was “closely watching” the developments in Jharkhand where voters have given a fractured verdict in the just-concluded Assembly elections.
After a meeting of its Parliamentary Board, BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar said that “in view of the evolving political situation in the State, the Parliamentary Board authorised the party president to take appropriate decision on the matter.”
The meeting was presided over by party president Nitin Gadkari.
‘Detrimental’
“The BJP has noted the result of the Jharkhand elections. The results have produced a hung Assembly, which is detrimental to the interest of the development and governance in the State,” Mr. Kumar said.
The BJP won 18 seats and its ally, the JD(U), got two out of the 81 seats.
