The judicial remand of all the four persons arrested in Emaar township scam – suspended IAS officer B.P. Acharya, Koneru Prasad, N. Sunil Reddy and G. Venkata Vijay Raghav – had been extended till July 23.

They were produced before the CBI court on Monday by video-linkage with jail.

Counter affidavit

The CBI on Monday filed a counter affidavit in court opposing bail for Vijay Raghav, financial controller of Emaar MGF Land, on the ground that he might threaten witnesses if he was set free.

The investigating agency said documentary evidence retrieved from the laptop of Vijay Raghav by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory here showed that he had collected money over and above the documented price of villa plots in Emaar township.

Some of the plot buyers had filed revised Income-Tax returns confirming payment of excess money.

False cancellation letters

Vijay Raghav created false cancellation letters in respect of 16 plots with a view to mislead investigation.

The letters were never sent to addressees and they even denied seeking cancellation.

The arguments on the bail would be heard on July 13.
