The police have interrogated 50 people in connection with the murder of Palaniammal (85), a resident of Gandhipuram first street in the city on Monday.
Some of those questioned are migrant labourers who live in the locality. The police have examined visuals from surveillance cameras from some of the roads around the locality.
Officers are not ruling out chances of a psychopath, or drunkard behind the murder.
