Direct flight between Mumbai and Vijayawada
Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajpati Raju launched the Vijayawada-Mumbai flight service from Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada. An Air India Express flight arrived at the airport at 9:45 am and departed to Mumbai at 10.30 a.m.
The flight will start from Mumbai at 8 a.m. and reach Vijayawada by 9.45 a.m. The airlines is operating services three days in a week on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
Theresa May-Emmanuel Macron meeting
The leaders of Britain and France met on Thursday against a military backdrop to pledge closer cooperation on defense, security and borders after Britain leaves the European Union. But President Emmanuel Macron also delivered a firm message- the U.K. cannot keep coveted access to the EU for its financial sector after Brexit unless it continues to play by the bloc’s rules once it leaves.

Pope in Peru
Pope Francis arrived in Peru on the final leg of his South American trip, where he will meet indigenous people and hear firsthand how the country’s gold rush is destroying large areas of their Amazon homeland. Earlier, the pontiff highlighted the plight of vulnerable immigrants and robustly defended a bishop accused of covering up sexual abuse at the end of a visit to Chile overshadowed by controversy.

Martin Guptill scored a century as Pakistan limited New Zealand to a modest 271 for seven in the fifth one-day international in Wellington on Friday. Guptill and Colin Munro gave the hosts a flying start before Rumman Raees helped spark a mini-collapse that put the brakes on New Zealand's scoring.

Qualifier Denisa Allertova became the first player into the last 16 at the Australian Open after romping through against Magda Linette 6-1, 6-4 on Thursday. The unheralded Czech took just one hour and 11 minutes to cruise past her Polish opponent to get to the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time.
