Zero FIR lodged against Abu Azmi, says DCW

For making misogynistic comments

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) said on Thursday that after the commission’s initiative, the Delhi Police had registered a zero FIR against Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi for making misogynistic comments last year.

The matter will now be forwarded to the Maharashtra Police, the DCW added. “Thankfully after almost a year, an FIR has been registered against Mr. Azmi for his horrifying misogynistic statements. It’s sad that the Mumbai Police delayed the matter and failed to file an FIR,” said DCW chief Swati Maliwal.
