The Delhi Police on Tuesday picked up yet another Indian Mujahedeen (IM) operative, from Bihar's Purnea district.
Last month, police nabbed six of them from Delhi, Bihar and Chennai. They are believed to hold the key to major terror incidents in the recent past like the blasts at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore and the German Bakery in Pune, as well as the Jama Masjid firing.
All six were believed to be Bihar domiciles.
Sources said Aftab, who operated under aliases Farooq and Roshan, was nabbed from a village under the Jalalgarh police station by a Special Branch team, assisted by the district police, following an Intelligence Bureau tip-off.
He sneaked in from Nepal
Declining to give specific details, Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha said that the operative had sneaked in from neighbouring Nepal into Bihar's Araria district a few months ago.
