Amid the controversy over the letter by some MPs to U.S. President Barack Obama against granting a visa to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Majlis MP Asaduddin Owaisi asserted that he signed the letter.
‘Nothing to hide’
“Yes I signed the petition. There is nothing to hide,” he said.
Mr. Owaisi wondered why some MPs had gone into the denial mode after signing the petition. “Where is the need to lie,” asked the Hyderabad MP, adding Mr. Modi had to be fought at all levels.
He doesn’t remember how many MPs signed the petition but says it was done in December last. “Independent MP Mohd. Adeeb brought the petition and I signed it.”
It was for the U.S. government to take a call on whether to give a visa to Mr. Modi or not, he said.
