A 40-year-old woman passenger allegedly slapped an Air India staffer at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday. The woman staffer slapped the passenger in retaliation.

The police said the passenger, a resident of Panchkula in Haryana, was booked on an AI flight for Ahmedabad, which was scheduled to take off at 5 a.m. However, she reached the airport at 4. 20 a.m., failing to comply with the requirement of being present 75 minutes before the departure of the flight.

At the boarding counter, the staff refused her the boarding pass, but she started arguing with them. She was asked to meet the duty manager, with whom too she argued. The argument degenerated into a scuffle when the passenger slapped the duty manager, who slapped her in return. Later at a police station. they apologised to each other.
