The Mamata Banerjee government on Tuesday brought out a book on its 90 days in office, in which it says that while the government had tried to fulfil within 90 days most of the 200-day agenda outlined in the election manifesto, the real credit went to the people.
In the document, which was distributed outside the House, Ms. Banerjee said that the main aim of the government, which assumed office on May 20, was to restore the State to its previous position. “I hope that the intent to change things in the State will be proven through this compendium, which I place before our people for their consideration — if there is a will, the work can get done,” she said in a foreword, adding that the government had tried to keep the word it gave to the people — from Singur to Jangalmahal.
Later, addressing reporters, she said she had tried to lay emphasis on coordination between Ministers and various department officials, constantly monitoring their working. A meeting had been called on Wednesday to discuss budget proposals, she said.
The book covers a range of topics from police to consumer affairs and encompassing within its 115 art-paper printed pages, the issues of land, industry, Jangalmahal and hill affairs.
