VVIP chopper deal: Parrikar asks Congress to show blacklisting order

The government on Wednesday challenged the Congress party to show the order banning AugustaWestland during the UPA government to prove their claims.

"Ask them to first show the order of blacklisting. Then we will reply," said Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on the sidelines of an Air Force event on skill development for retired personnel.

Congress party had repeatedly alleged that the government has been doing business with a blacklisted firm.

Responding to questions on the Italian court order in the case, Mr. Parrikar said that the goverment is studying the order and will respond in 7-8 days.

"We have a copy of the Italian Court order and we are in the process of translating it a legal manner," he said.

Regusing to speak on the issue at the moment Mr. Parrikar said that as the issue was in Parliament he would address the issue there.
