Violence erupted yet again at Panrui area in Birbhum district on Saturday; police fired tear gas shells to disperse two groups of villagers.
Panrui area has been in the news over the past few months for series of violent incidents including the one on October 27 when three persons were killed.
Two groups of villagers hurled bombs at each other at Sirsita village in the area. The incident occurred hours before All India Trinamool Congress district president Anubrata Mondal addressed a public meeting.
The area has been on a boil due to turf-war between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP.
No casualtyThere were no reports of any casualty but local television channels aired footage of villagers hurling crude bombs at each other.
