Two foreign nationals molested, robbed in Goa

Three unidentified persons molested and later robbed two foreign nationals of gold ornaments and foreign currency worth about Rs. 51,000 on Tuesday night at Varca in south coastal Goa, according to thea police complaint.

The complaint was lodged with Colva police by Mr. Anand Kumar Sharma, a Delhi resident, who was staying boarding at Hotel Dona Rosa in Varca where he befriended two foreign nationals — Liabon Spitsiana and Natalia Afnasierra.

On Tuesday night, all the three were taking a stroll nearsome metres away from their hotel when three unidentified persons riding a motorcycle allegedly beat up Mr. Sharma and later molested the foreigners. They also snatched gold chains, gold ornaments and foreign currency worth $1200 from the women--- all worth Rs.51,000 --- from the two foreigners.

The Colva police are investigating the case. Goa's Deputy Inspector General of Police Ravindra Yadav told The Hindu that efforts were made to identify the culprits. but No arrests were so far made. till late evening on Wednesday.
