Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, who was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital for respiratory problems, was discharged on Monday evening. Sena spokesman Harshal Pradhan told The Hindu that Mr. Thackeray's condition was stable.
Respiratory and pulmonary disease expert Dr. Jalil Parker, who has been treating Mr. Thackeray since 2009, said the octogenarian leader was fine, and there were no complications.
Dr. Parker said the Sena chief was brought to the hospital for a regular check-up and treated for the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
