Yatra against privatisation, saffronisation of education

State urged to introduce common school system

In order to protect the education from privatisation, corporatisation and saffronisation, the Telangana Save Education Committee has decided to conduct the Akhila Bharata Siksha Sangharsh Yatra in Karimnagar district from November 2 to December 3.

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, committee district convenor M. Raghu Shankar Reddy and chairman S. Sujatha said that the yatra would be launched in Hyderabad on November 2. The State team of the yatra would tour the district on November 13 and 14.

Sangarsh yatra national chairman Anil Sathgopal would visit Karimnagar district on November 26.

Stating that over 105 associations are supporting the cause for the protection of education from privatisation, they urged the government to introduce common school system to remove disparities in the education system. On the occasion, they released a poster and listed out their demands, including KG to PG free education, allocation of 30 per cent of budget to the education sector as per Kothari Commission
