The State is witnessing all round development in the past three years under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao with public welfare on the top of the agenda, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said.
Addressing a gathering after hoisting the National Flag here on Tuesday, first time after formation of the district, Mr. Harish Rao said 1.13 lakh acres under 5,256 tanks in the district would be brought into cultivation in three phases of Mission Kakatiya of which two were already completed. He said that 34 lakh cubic metres of silt was removed from tanks so far thereby improving their capacity in addition to increasing ground water levels in the surrounding areas.
Referring to various irrigation projects under Kaleswaram, the Minister said that the government was making all efforts for construction of different reservoirs — Anantagiri, Ranganaik Sagar, Mallannasagar and Kondapochamma. Tender process for Ranganaik Sagar was completed while tendering for other projects was nearing completion.
The construction of canals will be completed by next year as more than 80% land acquisition was completed. He also mentioned about construction of godowns, establishment of integrated markets and cotton market at Gajwel.
In Sangareddy Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) B.R. Meena, chief guest in the Independence Day celebrations, said that the State stood on the top with 21 % growth rate during last year. He said that division of districts has given impetus for growth across the State.
Referring to 24-hours power supply to farm sector which was being launched in Sangareddy district on an experimental basis, Mr. Meena said that ₹ 37 crore was sanctioned for the improvement of power supply systems in the district. He has also informed that laying of Mission Bhagiratha pipelines was completed to the tune of 1,537 kilometres to extend drinking water supply to 951 habitations.
In Medak Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy hoisted national flag and addressed a gathering at the district headquarters. She said that government was focusing on comprehensive development of state and all steps were being taken in that direction.
