‘Warangal will be developed into second capital’

November 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - BHUPALPALLY (WARANGAL DT.):

The BJP-led NDA government intends to develop Warangal as the second capital of the Telangana State and if people elected the BJP candidate in this byelection, the could be expedited, said Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.

Unlike the other parties, BJP treats all the States equally and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, recently announced a package of Rs. 80,000 crore to Karnataka and Rs. 15,000 crore for farmers there. The party was committed to develop Telangana and has already included Warangal in the Smart City list.

Mr. Ahir said the Central government was reopening the FCI at Ramagundam and strengthening NTPC at the same place. The Centre was also introducing two new trains connecting Telangana State – one from Kazipet to Mumbai and another to Wardha. “These trains will start after this byelection,” he said. The Union Minister said the BJP-TDP combine fielded an educated person who proved has himself in life. If he gets elected from Warangal, it would facilitate faster development of Telangana, particularly the Warangal district.

Addressing a well-attended public meeting here on Sunday, Mr. Ahir appealed to people to elect the BJP candidate.

BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao lacked respect for women and hence did not give a single berth in his Cabinet for them. The TRS has brought the long gone feudal system in Telangana that was against Dalits and downtrodden. “The Chief Minister promised heaven and lured Dalits with the assurance of three acre land to each family. Now he remained silent. People should think before voting,” he said.

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, TDLP leader E. Dayakar Rao, party leaders A. Revanth Reddy, G. Mohan Rao, Motkupalli Narsimhulu and others wanted people to teach a fitting lesson to KCR accusing him of forcing another election on people with his arrogance. “KCR is taking people for granted. This time, you should give him back,” they appealed to people.
