Various groups join hands to fight fluoride in Nalgonda

The representatives of Fluoride Knowledge and Action Network, a nation-wide network fighting on fluoride issue, have formed Nalgonda Collaborative by bringing together various organisations fighting on fluoride issue in district.

The representatives have met Rural Water and Sanitation officials on Tuesday to discuss about the issue. Speaking on the occasion, the Member of Network and Executive Director of Indian Natural Resources Economics and Management (INREM) foundation, Sundarrajan Krishan, said that they would meet Collector P. Satyanarayana Reddy to sign a contract to work together for a couple of years.

The collaborative had District Fluoride Mitigation Centre, Nalgonda, National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Unicef, Fluorosis Vimukthi Porata Samithi (FVPS) as members. The Network will provide technical support to help the DFMC to monitor the functioning of various departments on fluoride. Mr. Krishnan said thematic research would be carried out to know what needs to be done to eradicate the fluorosis.
