Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Meghana Institute of Dental Sciences (MIDS), in association with Government Medical College, celebrated the international Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day here on Saturday.

Marking the celebrations, students and faculty of the department took a motorbike rally wearing helmets from MIDS at Mallaram to Government Medical College where Superintendent of Police S. Chandrashekar Reddy inaugurated the celebration. Addressing the gathering, the SP said that wearing the helmet was a must to avoid casualties in road mishaps. He advised the two-wheeler riders to desist from talking over the mobile phone while riding, as the practice often proved to be fatal. Oral and Maxillofacial department is one which relates to treatment to accident victims, said maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Suresh Reddy.
