Given the arrest of Tarun Tejpal on rape charges and other incidents that followed, what do you think of Tehelka , which you co-founded?
I think it is still doing a good job and good stories in spite of what happened.
What made you leave Tehelka only a few years after co-founding it?
I had bore the State assault on it after the sting operations. Also, Tarun [Tejpal] had a different direction for it.
You spoke of journalism being constrained or ‘traditional’ today. Why do you think so or what do you think is the problem?
The fact is that there a number of good journalists out there in every organisation who can do good work. But it is the platforms that are letting them down.
