: With a view to improving the cooking standards and inducing professionalism in serving and cleaning activities at its massive Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba complex at Tirumala, the TTD has resolved to take the advice of experts from the Hyderabad-based National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and stalwarts in hotel management.

Reviewing the activities of the Nitya Annadanam Trust under which serves free meal to more than one lakh pilgrims every day both at Tirumala and Tirupati at a high-level meeting, TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday opined that improvement in the quality of services would further enhance the image of the trust.

He called upon officials to work out a unique dress code for the staff working at the complex.

Dr. Sambasiva Rao asked the officials to adopt a practical approach to the problems being faced by the pilgrims, particularly at Kalyanakatta – the place of tonsuring. He asked forest officials to embark on a special drive in collaboration with the wildlife authorities to keep a tab on the movement of leopards near human habitations in the hill town and on trekking routes. Lauding the services of Srivari Seva volunteers at the laddu counters, he urged PRO T. Ravi to see to it that additional counters are operated for the convenience of the devotees.
