The Government of Telangana has decided to conduct a survey of tanks and mapping of Hyderabad using latest technology such as Geographical Information System (GIS) and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR).

Tripathi here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said Hyderabad was one of the oldest cities of the world like Istanbul and it needed to be developed without disturbing the existing plan.

Stating that Hyderabad would grow multi-fold, with the population likely to cross 2 crore in the near future, he said a lot of re-engineering and re-working on the city had to be done.
