TRS workers clash at party meeting

Some activists allege that those working for the party against all odds have been neglected

March 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - KHAMMAM:

Tempers ran high among a section of the TRS cadres, including a few activists of its student wing TRSV soon after the party meeting in Yellendu on Saturday. Some of the activists threw chairs at the venue of the meeting symbolically protesting the alleged raw deal meted out to them in the party.

According to sources, the meeting was convened to garner support for Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, the TRS backed candidate for the Council elections from Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates’ constituency. Minister for Roads & Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao, Yellendu MLA K. Kanakaiah and Mr. Rajeshwar Reddy were among others who addressed the meeting.

Trouble broke out minutes after the exit of the Minister and others when some agitated party cadres tossed chairs on the dais.

An aggrieved TRSV district leader raised slogans denouncing the alleged neglect of the loyal party cadres who had worked for the party against all odds in the past.

They resented the alleged undue importance to the new entrants into the party by the leadership.
