The TRS has claimed that all but two MLAs of Congress were in touch with the former party and that the Congress will not even win five Assembly seats in the next elections.

TRS MP Balka Suman and MLC Palla Rajeswara Reddy’s reaction on these lines was in response to Congress State working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka telling earlier that his party will win 75 seats in 2019 polls. The Congress leader even said there was not a single leader in the TRS who could win on his own.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Suman said Mr. Vikramarka was under illusion that the Congress will wrest power in 2019. In trying to protect his standing in the party, Mr. Vikaramarka attracted attention with reckless accusations.

The MP said the internal differences in the Congress, particularly between Mr. Vikramarka and Telangana Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, were severe. He recalled in this context that several Congress leaders were angry with the party in-charge of Telangana Ramachandra Kuntia declaring that Mr. Reddy will remain the president till 2019.

At a separate press conference, Mr. Rajeswara Reddy said Congress was a closed chapter as all but two of its MLAs were inclined towards the TRS. He added that Mr. Vikramarka targeted the TRS for six months from day one that the latter was appointed working president.

Mr. Vikramarka, earlier, termed the TRS as a temporary political party and was confident that the Congress would bag 75 seats in the 2019 polls as there was not a single leader in the TRS who could win without displaying KCR’s picture. KCR himself was losing popularity rapidly and there was no way the TRS would retain its seats.

He accused the Government of vitiating the atmosphere in the villages with the formation of farmers coordination committees that will take up revenue department activities without any accountability.

All that the Chief Minister did was to spend people’s money on the TRS activists who would fill the Farmers Coordination Committees and this is totally unacceptable. “How can ₹ 500 crores be spent on committees that will have TRS activists and who will be accountable for their role in sanctioning input incentive that the Government plans to give to the farmers,” he asked.

Earlier, Mr. Vikramarka paid tributes to former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy on his 8th death anniversary and recalled his services to the State and the several welfare schemes he introduced, which endeared him to people.
