The week-long spat between two Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders ended on an amicable note after intervention of Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao.
Recently Narayanakhed Market Committee chairman Bidakanne Hanumanthu levelled charges of corruption against Naryanakhed MLA M. Bhupal Reddy which triggered a war of words between the two.
Mr. Hanumanthu alleged that he had paid ₹ 13 lakh to Mr. Bhupal Reddy to get the Market Committee chairman post. He even presented to the media some documents that showed that ₹10 lakh was transferred in the name of MLA’s wife Vijaya Lakshmi and the present vehicle which they were travelling was bought with that money.
The MLA accepted that he had received the money but asserted that it was a hand loan and that the amount was repaid to Mr. Hanumanthu.
However, this has created lot of commotion in the ruling party forcing Mr. Harish Rao to intervene.
Both the ruling party leaders addressed the media here on Friday in the presence of MLA Chinta Prabhakar. The two said they had minor differences which were sorted out. Mr. Hanumanthu said that he had passed the comments in the spur of the moment and expressed regret for that. On his part Mr. Bhupal Reddy said that he would extend the necessary courtesy to Mr Hanumanthu.
