Three persons were crushed to death and six injured when a metal drum fell on them at Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd. at Kudremukh in Mudigere taluk on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Kundan (35), Shankar (40), and Sunil (36), all workers of the company.
They were engaged in dismantling work on the premises of the now defunct KIOCL when the metal drum fell from the third floor, crushing the three to death.
Prakash, SI of Kudremukh police station said the workers did not anticipate that the drum would fall on them when they were working.
