Telangana varsity exams begin on a smooth note

Under Graduate examinations of Telangana University began at 31 examination centres across the district on Friday. About 45,000 students studying in 67 degree colleges are appearing for the exams.

The TU Registrar, R. Limbadri, said that all arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the examinations and they began amid the peaceful atmosphere. Speaking to reporters he stated that hall tickets to all students have been uploaded online and students could also get them from their colleges.

He asked the college managements to issue the hall tickets to all the students and not to resort to any pressure tactics in order to get the fee dues from them at the last minute. There will be an observer in each examination centre and there will be strict vigil to ensure peaceful and hassle-free conduct of the examinations.

“We have already written to the Superintendent of Police to provide necessary security at the examination centres,” he said. The final year examinations were held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and the first year examination held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the first day. The second year examinations would be conducted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday onwards.

Those who could not get their hall tickets can contact the Controller of Examinations Prof. Naseem for duplicate hall tickets. He warned against any malpractice during the examinations and directed the chief superintendent of each examination centre to maintain strict vigil and not to be complacent in adhering to the examination rules and regulations.
