Senior Telugu Desam leader Mothkupalli Narasimhulu has condemned the lathi-charge on farmers in Medak district and wanted to know why the Telangana government has not taken action against police.

He criticised Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao saying that he wanted international police system, but was not bothered about farmers. The government has money to buy vehicles for police department but not to purchase power from other States to supply to farmers. He sought nine-hour power supply to farmers free of cost.

Criticising the decision to celebrate Independence Day from Golconda fort, he said it could be celebrated from anywhere and there was no need to spend crores of rupees. Mr. Narasimhulu said Eamcet counselling should be taken up in accordance with the Supreme Court verdict. The government should act in a manner of doing justice to students irrespective of whether their parents lived here before 1956.

Earlier addressing a meeting of Telangana leaders of Telugu Nadu Trade Union Council, Telangana TDP president L. Ramana said the TRS government would be given six months’ time to solve problems of workers. He said that an agitation would be launched if it failed to act by then.
