Making its intentions clear of conducting the Intermediate examinations on its own, the Telangana Government on Thursday constituted the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) with the Higher Education Minister as the Chairman and the Secretary of Higher Education as the Vice-Chairman.

Shailaja Ramaiyer, Managing Director, Handicrafts Development Corporation, will hold the post of Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), with full additional charge, a separate GO issued on Thursday said.

The Government also issued orders directing the Secretary of TSBIE to conduct Intermediate Public Examinations in March, 2015 through TSBIE duly taking necessary requisite staff from the undivided Board of Intermediate Education.

The TSBIE will also have 10 officials from different departments concerned with education as ex-officio members apart from nominated members who include Vice- Chancellors of various universities and principals of government and aided junior colleges. Subject experts will also be co-opted as members.

Keeping in view the urgency to conduct Intermediate Public Examinations, the Government also appointed former BIE Secretary, M.Veerabhadraiah, as legal consultant to assist the Secretary. Similarly, Mukthdhar, former Controller of Examinations, BIE was also appointed to assist the TSBIE.
