A two-day technical symposium ‘Yantrang 2014’ got under way at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) here on Friday.
Inaugurating the event, assistant general manager of NTPC, B. Rajendra Kumar, exhorted students to attend seminars and symposia to broaden their ideas and thinking. Interaction with other students and faculty will help to develop your thinking, he said.
Prathiraj Metal Masters Private Limited managing director C. Sridhar Reddy advised students to follow professional journals and exchange knowledge with fellow students to keep themselves abreast with latest developments in their respective discipline. IIT Indore associate professor B. Gourinath wanted students to focus on research. KITS executive member V. Vishwanadha Rao asked students to cultivate skills in fine arts like music, dance and others for overall personality development.
Principal K. Ashoka Reddy said students who were interested in research would get good encouragement from the college as it had secured autonomous status recently. He wanted them to come up with new ideas and proposals.
