An exclusive centre of Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK) would come up at Madikonda in Warangal city soon, said IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao.

Inaugurating the regional centre of TASK here on Saturday, he said the present building was private and it would be moved later to a permanent structure that would be constructed with an outlay of ₹ 25 crore. The centre would impart employable skills to the graduates seeking jobs and also provide necessary skills to become entrepreneurs.

“This centre will act as a bridge between industry and institutions,” he said. Three firms have signed MoU with the state government to take part in TASK activities, he added. Mr. Rama Rao exhorted the students to develop strong mental abilities to face challenges and not try to escape them. “It is strange to find youngsters committing suicide for trivial reasons like a failure in examination or for being scolded by parents or for some other such reason. People are born to succeed and they will definitely face challenges on the way,” he said as the students cheered.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said the students of Warangal were hard working and enterprising. They needed some additional skills which would be catered by the TASK centre being set up in the city now. and MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar also spoke. said he persuaded IT Minister and went round the TASK officials to convince them to set up the centre in Warangal as thousands of students graduate each year in the city. “There are scores of engineering and management colleges here and not many students find jobs due to lack of minimum skills in subject and soft skills,” he said urging the students to make most from the centre.
