Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav has said that the government lost a revenue of Rs. 20 crore every month due to the slashing of petrol and diesel rates.

Speaking to media persons after assuming charge of his office at the Secretariat, Mr. Yadav promised hassle free tax administration for genuine payers of sales tax. Those who indulged in “zero business” or suppressed income, however, will be dealt with strictly. The enforcement wing of commercial taxes will be strengthened to monitor their activity. A task force will also be constituted if needed.

The Minister signed his first file pertaining to granting sales tax exemption for the canteen of Greyhounds. He approved another file to purchase 380 computers and printers for the Commercial Taxes Department.

A large number of his supporters thronged the narrow corridor housing his chamber in the ‘D’ block where he performed pooja .
