Students should strive to give the country a new image, Patna High Court Chief Justice L. Narasimha Reddy said on Sunday.
While India is known to be a ‘developing nation’ the world over, the tag should change to that of a ‘developed nation’, a goal the students should strive towards, he said.
Delivering the convocation address at the Chaitanya Degree & PG college (Autonomous) here, Justice Narasimha Reddy advised students to pursue research programmes after their postgraduation for better opportunities for the individual and service to society. “Real interest, discipline and dedication are needed if one has to succeed in life or career,” he said, urging the students to inculcate a sense of social service apart from focusing on career development.
Kakatiya University registrar M.V. Ranga Rao also asked the students to opt for research as a career.
College secretary Ch. Purushottam Reddy said the college was accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the UGC had granted it autonomous status in 2007.
Former Minister and TDP State vice-president E. Peddi Reddy was present.
