Students and teachers celebrate Bathukamma at Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School in Karimnagar on Saturday.

As a prelude to the Bathukamma festival, the students of Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School in Karimnagar town, celebrated Bathukamma samburalu on Saturday, amid much pomp and gaiety.

Students and teachers arrived at the school in their best attire. Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah’s wife and MEPMA project director M. Vijayalaxmi, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh’s wife, Golden Balbeer Singh, corporators Gugilla Jayashree and Harpreet Kaur, and others participated in the celebrations.

On the occasion, students were told about the importance of celebrating Bathukamma. They were also told about the significance of various flowers.
