Sri City to host blindfold chess event

Sri City will be hosting a blindfold chess event at its IIIT campus on January 10 (Saturday). International Master Nisha Mohota and Woman Grandmaster Padmini Rout, who were the National Champion and Runner-up in 2014, will play a match with their eyes blindfolded. 

Blindfold Chess is played by most talented chess wizards and demands extraordinary visuospatial abilities & memory power. It is expected to be the first ever event in the history of Indian Universities and will be streamed live through IIIT – Sri City website. Meanwhile, a Swachh Bharat programme was conducted by Pals Plush India Pvt. Ltd., a Chinese toys manufacturing unit, operating in the SEZ premises here on Wednesday.
