A modern sports stadium will soon come up on the sprawling campus of the Telangana University at Dichpally, located 20 kilometres from here. Efforts are on to construct a stadium for the benefit of students and other sports enthusiasts from the district.
As a first step in this direction, Panchayat Raj Executive Engineer B. Premkumar and the university Registrar R. Limbadri and other officials went round the campus and identified some locations for the construction of the proposed stadium. They are looking for 10-acres beneath the hillocks on which the administrative building was constructed. The select site is abutting the National Highway-44 and presents a scenic beauty. “It is our endeavour to give a fillip to sports in the campus. ,” said the Registrar.
