To bring out a qualitative change among students who showed slower progress in studies, a summer coaching under the aegis of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan was launched at 195 centres to provide special coaching to 9,100 students across the district on Monday.
Teaching at these centres would be conducted with the aid of CDs and electronic devices and efforts would be made by teachers to identify the reasons for the backwardness of students in studies. Thus, teaching would be done with more focus and special attention. Formally launching the programme at the ZP High School at Ankshapur village in Velpur mandal, the district Collector D. Ronald Ross wanted teachers to teach effectively so as to attract the attention of students.
He asked the teachers and parents to understand that the Centre and the State were according top priority to qualitative teaching.
He said that every challenge could be overcome through the education and students when learnt while playing and singing they would grow liking of education.
Teachers should not complicate teaching and explain lessons in simplistic methods, he added.
Mr. Ross felt that the summer coaching centres would be of an immense use for students who could not excel well in annual examinations. District Educational Officer K. Srinivasachary was also present.
