Mr. Shankar Yadav won the elections in the constituency being represented by TRS legislator Gudem Mahipal Reddy with a majority of 1,386 votes by getting 9,316 votes against 7,930 votes polled by TRS candidate. His winning was attributed to his personal charm of being close to the public.
