Six persons succumb to biting cold

The intense cold wave sweeping across Warangal and dipping temperatures have reportedly claimed six lives in the district since Tuesday night.

Three persons – B. China Lingaiah (75) of China Linga tanda, Guguloth Champli (56) of Ganta tanda and Angoth Baju (81) of Uttara tanda – were said to have succumbed to cold in the early hours of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, D. Tirupathamma (75) of Uggampalli village in Maripeda mandal, Bhukya Buddiya (78) of Thopanagadda tanda in Chennaraopet mandal and Chandramma (75) of Lingagiri village reportedly succumbed to cold.

The district has registered as low as 10 degree Celsius while the rural areas recorded lesser than that.
