Showers bring respite from scorching heat

April 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Sudden rains followed by heavy gales had bought much sought-after respite from the sweltering heat wave conditions in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

The rains lashed entire Karimnagar for more than one-and-half hour with gales.

Power disrupted

Trees were uprooted in several parts of the town due to winds disrupting the power supply for more than four hours in entire Karimnagar.

The electricity authorities had tough time in the restoration of power supply by reconnecting the snapped and dangled power lines.

Vehicles parked under the trees were damaged following the uprooting of the trees in Kisannagar locality of the town. Several low lying areas were inundated with flood waters.

Fall in temperature

Residents heaved a sigh of relief with the sudden rains as the temperature had fell down to 33 degree Celsius from sizzling 45 degree Celsius on Tuesday.
