Seven from Hyderabad drown in Mahabubnagar tank

According to Amangal police, three victims got into the water and started drowning. In a bid to rescue the drowning persons, others also jumped in.

A leisure trip to Cherikonda Gowramma Cheruvu (tank) in Amangal Mandal of Mahabubnagar District turned tragic when seven persons got drowned on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred when 12 youth from Hashmabad and AlJubail Colony in Falaknuma went to Cherikonda Gowramma cheruvu from the old city of Hyderabad.

According to Amangal police, the victims got into the water and started drowning. In a bid to rescue the drowning persons, others also jumped. One after the other, all the seven met watery grave within no time.

The police fished out six bodies including that of four women aged between 16-40 years. Police identified the victims as Rukhya, Masrath, Muskan, Basku, Rahman and Munna. Efforts are on to fish out the other body.
