Commissioner of Police D. Joyal Devis has directed the officials to provide proper security for the distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques.

In a review meeting held here on Sunday, Mr. Devis said that cheques will be distributed from May 10 to May 18 and the programme would be held in four to five villages under each police station limits every day. “Coordinate with the members of Rythu Samanavaya Samithi (RSS), village elders and village police officers. Make proper security arrangements at the place of cheque distribution like schools or other buildings. Make an assessment of number of farmers who would attend the programme and how much force would be required. Use the service of local youth and NCC activists. Similarly, make sure the farmer who withdrew amount at banks reach home safely without any untoward incidents at banks,” he has suggested the officials.

Mr. Devis also asked the officials to create awareness among the farmers there was no need to rush to banks to encash the cheques as cash can be withdrawn in the next 90 days.
