Sports Authority of Telangana State Chairman A. Venkateshwar Reddy appealed to Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore to sanction a synthetic athletics track in Warangal and also improve sports infrastructure on Osmania University campus.

Mr. Reddy met the Union Minister during the 22nd National Youth Festival in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The SATS Chairman urged the Minister to clear the pending proposals for improving infrastructure at Gachibowli sports complex, which now has SAI coaching centres, and at Saroornagar Stadium under the Khelo India scheme. Mr. Rathore was also briefed about the outstanding achievements of many international athletes from the State and felt better facilities would only lead to better results. “I am glad that the Union Minister responded positively to my request of visiting the State at the earliest, especially the Telangana Sports School at Hakimpet,” Mr. Reddy said.
