District Collector N. Satyanarayana has said the district administration was ready to undertake the overhauling of the revenue records and asked the staff to make it a big success.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday he said that the work was taken up after a long time and teams constituted under the leadership of Tahsildars and Deputy Tahsildars would stay 10 days in each village to set the records straight. Thus, in coming 100 days all records would be corrected in each mandal, he said.

In the first phase with 56 teams the task would be completed within 10 days. Agriculture staff, sarpanch and his staff, members of farmers’ federations and others would extend cooperation and assistance to the visiting revenue teams. It would be launched in 323 gram panchayats and 473 revenue villages, he added.

As regards the land issues 128 cases involving 620 acres of land were pending in courts and the revenue teams would get to know such cases and fully comprehend them. In all, 1,33,550 acre assigned land was identified and of which over 14,000 was under PoT. The teams would also correct the faults if any were found in their records, he said.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that a central room with 10 staff members was being set up at the Collector’s office and people having grievances could contact over telephone number 220008. Otherwise, they could also send mails to Irupkmr@gmail.com. This would help the administration provide assistance only to genuine farmers at the rate of ₹4,000 per acre in each season as announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, said the Collector. Joint Collector S. Sathaiah and DRO Manimala were also present.
