Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao of Hyderabad High Court admitted writ petition challenging the issue of GO by the Telangana government fixing minimum age of 65 years to become eligible for pension for the category of old aged artistes.

The writ petition was filed by K. Penchaiah and others. They contended the G.O issued on November 5 fixed the age limit of 65 years for sanction of Aasara pension for elderly artistes. They said the Centre prescribed the age limit of 58 years. The judge directed the government to file a counter and posted the matter after two weeks.
