Dr VS Alagu Varshini, the first collector of newly formed Peddapalli district was transferred on Tuesday evening and she was informed to report in Hyderabad immediately. Joint Collector S Prabhakar Reddy is the in-charge collector.
The 2012 batch IAS officer and native of Pollachi of Tamil Nadu state had shown her presence felt as the Collector with her firm decisions. She was instrumental in launching campaign against girl child marriage and women empowerment. Officials said that she was transferred on health grounds, . But it is rumoured that she was transferred because of her ‘adamant attitude’.
