The Chilakalapudi police registered a case against a pastor on charges of sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl from Guntur, staying in a missionary hostel in Machilipatnam. The pastor was also working in the same hostel.
The victim, a class IX student, in her police complaint alleged that the accused identified as Parisudha Babu (65), was behaving indecently with her for the past few days. Unable to bear with it she had to leave the hostel, Machilipatnam Deputy Superintendent of Police D. Surya Sravan Kumar said.
Following the victim’s complaint, the police launched a hunt to nab the accused, Chilakalapudi sub-inspector D. Chandrashekar said. Cases have been registered against the accused under Section 354 (A) of IPC (Sexual Harassment) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, the SI said.
